August 1, 2023 — Minneapolis, MN — Today Council Member Jamal Osman (DFL, Ward 6) marked the "official kickoff" of his 2023 Re-Election Campaign by filing his "Affidavit of Candidacy" at the Elections & Voters Services office, located at 980 E. Hennepin Avenue.
Jamal Osman's dedication to improving the lives of renters, workers, and strengthening neighborhoods has struck a chord across all communities in the Ward.
"It's an absolute honor to stand here today and submit my 2023 Candidate Filing. Serving the incredible people of Ward 6 has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life," said Jamal with a smile. "I am grateful for the progress we've made together, but there is so much more we can accomplish by working together as a united community."
As a Ward 6 Democrat, Jamal Osman has always wholeheartedly embraced the diversity and unique character of the neighborhoods he was elected to serve - which include Cedar-Riverside, Elliot Park, Philips West, Seward, Steven Square-Loring Heights and Ventura Village.
He has been the driving force behind numerous community-driven initiatives since elected in 2020, all aimed at making Minneapolis an inclusive, affordable, safe and thriving city for all its residents - including rent stabilization and guaranteed compensation for rideshare drivers.
Jamal's commitment to fostering affordable housing solutions, advocating for workers' rights, and supporting local businesses reflects his unwavering dedication to building a better Ward and City.
